When you need your windshield repaired

Our team highly recommends getting a small crack or chip repaired. We understand that cosmetics may not be important to you, but that small crack poses more of a threat than you may think. If left untreated, that small crack can quickly turn into a big crack (and a big headache!) and you may need to have your whole windshield replaced.

One of our automotive glass specialists will need to evaluate the size and location of the chip or crack to determine if your windshield can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced. In general cracks shorter than 6 inches can be repaired. Of course, repairs are always less expensive than replacements, but when it comes to your windshield, it is best to err on the side of caution. A cracked or chipped window compromises the structural integrity and safety of your vehicle.

Depending on humidity, the adhesive we use usually takes 3 to 4 hours to properly cure. Like many of our auto repair services, we aim to have the job completed the same day you bring your vehicle to us.

If you have comprehensive coverage, your auto insurance policy most likely covers windshield repair. Many people in the East Boston area are reluctant to go through their insurance for a glass repair because they are nervous their rates will go up. There is no need to worry since you were not at fault. However, windshield replacement is a little different. Some insurance companies, especially if this is not your first window replacement, will raise your premium.
